I have never made red velvet cupcakes before and thought Valentine’s Day would be the perfect opportunity to give it a go.
185g Self-Raising Flour
15g Cocoa Powder
200g Caster Sugar
2-4 tsp Red Food Colouring
I started by creaming together the sugar and butter before slowly adding the eggs.
I then sieved in the dry ingredients before adding the colouring.
Once the colouring was fully mixed in I popped the mixture in the cases and baked for 15 minutes at 200°c.
Once the cakes had cooled I iced and topped with some edible hearts.
